Shawn Nason, CEO of Nason Group & Transformational Disruptor
Shawn believes that “Innovation isn’t work, it’s a lifestyle.” He focuses on meeting people where they are at – whether it be a consumer, a patient, or a community member. The goal is to create the right experience for each and every consumer.

At Healthways, Shawn responsibilities included the Healthways Innovation Living Lab, known as, The HILL. Within The HILL there are teams focused on product, health outcomes & resolutions, marketing, data analytics, emerging technologies, innovation, consumer experience, and operations. The focus of the HILL is to infuse human-centered design throughout the organization so all members and patients are not only part of the process, but are truly the process in creating new pathways to well-being through new technologies by knowing them, surprising them, and making it easy. As well, Shawn is responsible for development of the International markets which include Brazil, France, and Australia.
Prior to Healthways and the Nason Group, Shawn was Chief Innovation Officer for Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. During this time, he had the honor to lead, create, and develop a team at the Xavier Center for Innovation. Also, Shawn worked three years at Humana leading a team focused on strategic and consumer innovation with a focus on design and consumer experience. Shawn also spent six years at The Walt Disney Company in various capacities within Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Cruise Line.
An inspirational thought leader, Shawn has a proven record of gaining confidence from key executives, stakeholders, peers, and employees at all levels.
Shawn has a BS in Business Management and Finance and an MBA in International Business and Finance. Shawn is currently working on his DBA in Organizational Leadership & Change.
Steve Junion, Chief Experience Officer
Steve believes in the power of community and the consumer. He has worked across the country to improve population health in a number of communities.
As Vice President for Population Health for Healthways, a Sharecare company, Steve leads a number of groups through significant change. Steve’s organization is responsible for business transformation efforts with the responsibility of aiding our members in achieving their health and well-being goals.

Steve’s organization spends a great deal of time understanding the consumer and translating those insights into how to better connect with Healthways members to support behavior change. His teams are also responsible for learning and development, program management, and the Healthways Innovation Living Lab (The HILL) – comprised of the product, consumer design, and consumer experience functions.
Prior to Healthways, Steve was leading efforts in support of Humana, Inc.’s Bold Goal of helping the communities they serve become 20% healthier by 2020. His work has helped to impact health in key Humana markets through public/private partnerships. In addition, Steve was responsible for taking a concept from ideation through to commercialization – a Care Concierge call center responsible for onboarding new Medicare members.
Steve has worked with the C Suite across industries beginning early in his career. He has learned to listen to the real challenges and opportunities impacting the highest levels of the organization impacting the business. More importantly, his role has been to translate these insights to key actions and/or initiatives to drive business results. Steve also has a reputation for building strong teams and leaders. His belief in people is evident as he works doggedly to ensure that people get opportunities to learn both within his organization and outside the organization to fulfill their career goals and objectives.
Steve completed his Ph.D. focusing on how to build online learning communities in 2012, and earned his MBA from the Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship Nova Southeastern University. Steve earned his BA from Coe College in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Kathyrn McClellan-Ross, Chief Curator
Kathyrn is known to ask – “What’s your story?” Her work with the Nason Group focuses on developing, editing and managing our social media messaging, along with curating the unique and engaging stories found in both our innovation work here at the Nason Group, as well as, the healthcare community at large.
Her experience as a personal historian, freelance copywriter,ghostwriter and editor provides a strong foundation in research, content mining, and storytelling to our team.

Kathyrn is currently working on a degree in Journalism with a minor in Public Relations at Indiana University Southeast. She is also an aspiring novelist with three works in progress. In her free time, Kathyrn can be found in her studio working on various creative projects – the least of which is the construction of a three and a half foot high legacy dollhouse.
Mark McFerron, Chief Creative Officer
Creativity is Mark’s life. He has over 27 years experience in design, identity and branding, as well as creative consulting in advertising and consumer experience within the healthcare industry.
Mark has been part of internal programs for marketing, innovation, first-impression development, design thinking, ethnographic interviewing and journey mapping. He has developed business partnerships and transparency programs for branding and formed vibrant relationships that have impacted population health and the health care environment in general.
Mark has been part of the development of innovative programs that honor seniors and employees with their lifelong accomplishments; co-developed and facilitated design thinking/prototyping programs.

If Mark isn’t designing, he’s painting. He’s a recognized world-class water-colorist. Mark’s works include being published in The Kentucky Encyclopedia for the research and the painting of a Civil War event: the Battle of Wildcat Mountain. Eight of his original paintings were on display for 2 years at the U.S. Department of Labor at the special request of U. S. Secretary, Elaine Chao. Mark has been forming his unique style in watercolor for 45 years. A style easily identified not only by art critics, but by anyone passionate about the arts.
Mark Miller, Chief Innovation Catalyst & Operations
Mark believes in the creative power of story and experience. He travels the country working with corporate leaders to help them unleash their potential, creating new pathways to transformation. His goal is to help people see with fresh eyes what can be and the courage to make it happen.
Mark is a speaker, consultant, coach and author. His roles have taken him all over North America speaking at conferences and coaching executives to help them create stretch goals and execute them through developing the teams around them. The results of his work have given companies a competitive advantage and improved their bottom lines.

Mark is a Certified Professional Co-active Coach (CPCC) and is completing his M.S. in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change from the Haile College of Business.
Brownrygg Woolls, Innovation Videographer & Catalyst
Brownrygg’s work with the Nason Group enables us produce quality video content that aims to inspire, teach and disrupt.
Having lived in South Africa, China and America Brownrygg has developed and ability to critically solve problems from multiple angles and learned first hand how important cultural empathy is for understanding other people and in turn the companies they own.
Employing these skills, 10 years of media production experience, talents and a passion for storytelling he has helped earn companies millions of views through creative video production. Having worked with brands such as University of Kentucky, 1792, A&W, Jewish Health Hospital and multiple real estate agencies he understands the nuances of digital story telling in a hyper connected world.
